The calculator will then show you your payment and how much you’ll pay in interest. Or, you can enter in monthly payment you can afford and the calculator will figure out your loan amount. Note: For “Number of payments,” common lengths of time to pay off a loan are 2, 3, 4, and 5 years. These would be 24, 36, 48, and 60 months or payments.
