Mind you, she got right down to business...but in a non judgmental way. She engages you by adding some personal stories or 'things that she did'... she gets that people wind up in hard times, we are not losers or pathetic, just in the cross hairs of life. I got information, I got options, I made a decision, paid the piper for my poor Financials skills, I have clean slate, credit rating intact. Time to stop spinning my wheels and more forward! Don't be afraid of asking for help. Especially if it's FREE :). Good Job!read less

The program would have been very helpful to me but after an MVA allocated me to disability 5 years ago my world has become a "complex case" - which is an accurate description! I was not able to access your services but I would definitely recommend you for anyone who's financial life has caught up thru no fault of your own - compost happens! The Credit Counsellor I spoke with really tried to help me with a budget (I would finally make my 84 year old chartered accountant father very happy) ! which i will definitely do when I can see the way to allocating funds I don't have yet! But... she was very helpful and sent me some really good forms etc. Thanks anyways!read less

“I was in a financial hole. . .the interest alone was burying me, and I couldn’t seem to make any progress paying it off. Someone in my family suggested I contact the Credit Counselling Society to see if they could help. I met with a very nice man who was able to show me how to do a proper budget, and he contacted all the creditors for me and got my interest dropped . . . He got me on a payment plan that took into consideration my income and other living expenses & bills . . . I would highly recommend this company to anyone who wants to get out of debt and start building their credit again.”
